Global coal-fired power capacity outside China fell again last year, but at a slower pace, according to new data from the Global Energy Monitor (GEM). Citing the GEM report, it says that plant closures need to happen „almost five times faster than they are currently“ and no new plants will be built „to meet the Paris Agreement targets.“.
