More than three-quarters of Slovaks agree that climate change is happening right now, according to a recent survey of public opinion on climate change in Slovakia. Co-author of the research and publication in the Czech Republic - Klimaviza, she thinks that activists should not cause fear in people. They should go out into the field more and deal with the problems that bother people, says Anna Bromová.

The majority of our public wants the private and public sectors to be more actively involved in measures against climate change. According to this research, people not only register the climate movement, but also perceive what it tells them. Where are we as a society right now?

The research you describe is very similar to ours. The urgency of solving climate change is often accompanied by fear and uncertainty about how it will affect us in our daily lives. And it is here that the way the climate movement will approach this challenge is essential. Maybe it is no longer effective to just say that the climate crisis is here and to create more fear in people. I think we have moved on. People perceive the change, but they are afraid of what will happen.
