CO mass balance<sub>2<\/sub> bound in wood products in the Slovak Republic increased by 163 thousand tons year-on-year; the forestry and wood sector thus contributes significantly to air protection, according to the Report on Forestry in the Slovak Republic for 2022, the so-called Green Report. The total volume of domestic processing of raw wood (deliveries + imports \u2013 exports) in 2022 reached 8.388 million m<sup>3<\/sup>\u00a0, which was 0.333 million m compared to last year<sup>3<\/sup> more. The growth was reflected in the improvement of the economic indicators of the DSP sector. Revenues increased by 6.4 %, costs by 4.9 % and the profit before tax by 37.3 % to 254 million \u20ac. It can still be stated that there was no significant increase in the competitiveness of most mechanical wood processing enterprises. Due to the lack of processing capacities, the highest quality assortments of I. and II. quality classes and hardwood cuttings of III. quality class are processed very little, despite their significant production potential in the forests of the Slovak Republic.
