The goal of this conference is to build on previous successes and prepare the ground for an effective solution to the global challenge of climate change. This should include phasing out fossil fuels (oil, coal and gas). You will surely remember that at COP27 it was not decided to phase out fossil fuels, but to reduce their use. As many world leaders attending or addressing COP28 continue to call for the elimination of fossil fuels, it is clear that despite the clear and present danger and apocalyptic predictions, fossil fuel dependence persists.
