{"id":8411,"date":"2023-11-10T16:25:17","date_gmt":"2023-11-10T15:25:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.co2news.sk\/?p=8411"},"modified":"2023-11-10T16:25:17","modified_gmt":"2023-11-10T15:25:17","slug":"commission-welcomes-agreement-between-european-parliament-and-council-on-nature-restoration-act","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.co2news.sk\/en\/2023\/11\/10\/commission-welcomes-agreement-between-european-parliament-and-council-on-nature-restoration-act\/","title":{"rendered":"Commission welcomes agreement between the European Parliament and the Council on the Nature Restoration Act"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">The Commission welcomes\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">the provisional agreement just reached by the European Parliament and the Council on the Nature Restoration Act\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">Once adopted and implemented in EU Member States, the law will\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">a key contribution to achieving climate neutrality by 2050\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">a\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">increasing Europe&#039;s preparedness and resilience\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">against the effects of climate change\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">The law should be triggered\u00a0 <\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">the process of continuous and permanent renewal of nature\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">on EU land and seas. As an overall objective to be achieved at EU level, Member States shall introduce by 2030\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">measures\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">for renewal at least 20 %\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">mainland\u00a0<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">The EU and its 20 % seas. By 2050, such measures should be in place for all ecosystems in need of restoration.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> \u00a0<span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">The law will help the EU and its Member States meet the recovery target they committed to under the <\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"none\">Kunming-Montr\u00e9al Global Biodiversity Framework<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0at the COP15 biodiversity conference in December 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Commission welcomes the provisional agreement just reached by the European Parliament and the Council on the Nature Restoration Act .
