We are already witnessing adverse consequences, from health problems and misallocation of funds to delays in sustainability initiatives and human rights violations. Achieving fair and transparent governance therefore poses a significant challenge. <\/span><span>The problem is that conflicts, crises and transitions carry the risk of corruption, which, if not prevented, could undermine collective efforts. In the context of climate change, corruption can manifest itself in the form of misuse of subsidies, bribery, nepotism or manipulation of scientific data. As a result, rapid corrective measures, regulatory changes and large financial flows may inadvertently enable corruption rather than thwart it.
