It causes severe weather, crop damage, and rising sea levels. But not everyone sees it as a threat.\u00a0<\/span><span>For this graphic we teamed up with\u00a0<\/span><em><span>Lloyd&#039;s Register Foundation<\/span><\/em><span>\u00a0to review one of their latest reports,\u00a0<\/span><em><span>World Risk Poll 2021: A Changed World?\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span>And dive into the data to find out why many people around the world are unsure about climate change as a threat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span>Are we united or divided?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>For the 2021 World Risk Poll, Lloyd&#039;s Register worked with Gallup to survey 125,911 people in 121 countries.\u00a0 <\/span><span>They were asked whether climate change would threaten, threaten, or not threaten their nation over the next 20 years. These nations were ranked by the total number of respondents who considered climate change a threat, to some extent or otherwise.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span>90% of respondents from Northern and Western Europe consider climate change a threat. It is therefore not surprising that many of the nations with the highest percentages of those who consider climate change a threat are European.
