Their aim is to achieve climate neutrality for the EU by 2050. EU leaders, meeting at the European Council, agreed in December 2019 that the EU should achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Achieving climate neutrality means that by 2050, EU countries will have to significantly reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and find ways to offset the remaining and necessary emissions in order to achieve\u00a0<strong>zero emissions balance<\/strong>The European Council underlined in its conclusions that the transition to climate neutrality brings significant opportunities for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>economic growth<\/li>\n<li>markets and jobs<\/li>\n<li>technological development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>EU leaders asked the Commission to continue work on\u00a0<strong>European Green Agreement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">They also acknowledged the need to ensure that the green transition is cost-effective, but also<strong>\u00a0socially balanced\u00a0<\/strong>a\u00a0<strong>fair<\/strong>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pod\u013ea eur\u00f3pskeho pr\u00e1vneho predpisu v oblasti kl\u00edmy musia krajiny E\u00da do roku 2030 zn\u00ed\u017ei\u0165 emisie sklen\u00edkov\u00fdch plynov aspo\u0148 o 55 %.
