The conclusions will serve as the EU&#039;s general negotiating position at COP28. In its conclusions, the Council emphasized the importance of significantly increasing global climate ambitions to bring the 1.5\u00b0C target set in Paris within reach. It also called for a global phase-out of non-depleting fossil fuels well before 2050 and for fossil fuel subsidies as soon as possible to accelerate the transition to a climate-neutral economy.
