Many of these changes are already being seen. <\/span><span>Our\u00a0<\/span><span>newly published research<\/span><span>\u00a0examines the consequences of climate overshoot for the oceans. Across all climate overshoot experiments and across all models, our analysis found that the associated changes in water temperature and oxygen levels will reduce viable ocean habitats. <\/span><span>The decline has been observed for centuries. This means that humanity will continue to feel its impacts long after atmospheric CO\u2082 levels peak and decline.
