The remaining 99.7 percent came from oil and gas extraction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&quot;In 2022, there was a one-sided fossil dominance of investment: on average 92.7 percent was invested in continuing the fossil oil and gas path and only 7.3 % in the shift towards sustainable energy production and low-carbon solutions,&quot; Greenpeace said. .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&quot;You can&#039;t allow these companies to self-regulate ... that&#039;s why we&#039;re asking governments to step in for the welfare of citizens because self-regulation is not working in this industry,&quot; Gogolewski said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On the western outskirts of Paris, under the slogan &quot;The thermometer explodes thanks to the fossil fuel industry&quot;, several activists set up a fake oil well in the business district of La Defense, where TotalEnergies is based.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Greenpeace report, titled &quot;The Dirty Dozen,&quot; includes data from six international oil companies based in Europe; Shell, TotalEnergies, BP, Equinor, Eni and Repsol together with six national oil and gas companies (OMV (Austria), PKN Orien (Poland), MOL (Hungary), Wintershall Dea (Germany, subsidiary of BASF), Petrol Group (Slovenia ) ) and Ina Croatia (Croatia).
