New\u00a0<\/span><span>regulation on batteries<\/span><span>\u00a0will ensure that batteries in the future have a low carbon footprint, use minimal harmful substances, require fewer raw materials from outside the EU and are collected, reused and recycled to a high extent in Europe. This will support the transition to a circular economy, increase the security of supplies of raw materials and energy, and strengthen the strategic autonomy of the EU. <\/span><span>In line with the ambitions of European circulation\u00a0 <\/span><span>green agreement<\/span><span>\u00a0the Battery Regulation is the first European legislation to use a whole life cycle approach in which acquisition, production, use and recycling are addressed and enshrined in a single law.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new law to ensure the collection, reuse and recycling of batteries in Europe comes into force today.
