As part of the fight against global warming and climate change, the European Union, which accounts for 8 % of global greenhouse gas emissions, has set a binding goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. As a step towards achieving it, the EU has significantly increased its climate change ambitions by 2030, committing to reduce emissions by at least 55 % compared to 1990. We must significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the coming decades. Slovakia can be one of the leaders in Central Europe in decarbonisation.
