Recurrent climate extremes, rising temperatures and sea levels, desertification, water scarcity, threats to biodiversity, environmental pollution and contamination threaten the health and well-being of humanity and may cause greater displacement, migratory movements, pandemics, social unrest, instability and even conflict.<span>\u00a0European armed forces are also confronted with changing and challenging operating conditions due to climate change.
