The independent advisory body, tasked with providing the European Union (EU) with scientific knowledge, expertise and advice on climate change, will start its second term on 24 March 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">European\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change<\/span><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0, established under the European Climate Law in 2021, consists of\u00a0<\/span><b><span dir=\"auto\">15 independent leading scientific experts,<\/span><\/b><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0who cover a wide range of relevant disciplines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">The Advisory Committee provides independent scientific advice on EU climate action and objectives and their consistency with European climate law and the EU&#039;s international commitments under the Paris Agreement, which will underpin EU climate action and efforts to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Management Board of the European Environment Agency (EEA) yesterday appointed EU scientific experts to serve as members of the European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change for its second term, from 2026 to 2030.
