Large regions in northern, southern and central-west Africa, as well as northern Madagascar, are experiencing severe droughts due to\u00a0<u>two or more years of below-average precipitation and above-normal temperatures<\/u>\u00a0These are the findings\u00a0<u>new message<\/u>\u00a0Global\u00a0<span class=\"ecl-link__label\">Copernicus Drought Observatory<\/span>\u00a0, which is run by the European Commission&#039;s Joint Research Centre (JRC).<\/p>\n<p>Drought conditions have a significant impact on the environment, economies and societies in affected regions, threatening food security, agricultural production and water resources.
