Minerals for energy transformation<\/p>\n
More than 3 billion tons of minerals and metals are needed to support the energy transition. The UNECE offers tools for the sustainable management of these key minerals, including the UN Framework for Resource Classification (UNFC) and the UN Resource Management System (UNRMS), which have been endorsed by UNECOSOC. It also focuses on environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards and supports value chain traceability. Multilateral environmental agreements contribute to addressing various risks.
