As seems almost mandatory for high-profile right-wing television hosts, the late Fox News host Tucker Carlson was a climate science denier. Carlson regularly preached to his nightly audience of more than 3 million viewers that climate change concerns are like religion and that \u201cthe whole theory (of human-caused climate) is absurd.\u201d In 2020, as wildfires burned across the Midwest, Carlson dismissed the connection between the fires and global warming, saying that for Democrats, \u201cclimate change is like systemic racism in the sky. You can\u2019t see it, but rest assured it\u2019s everywhere, and it\u2019s deadly.\u201d Last month, Carlson said that while \u201cthe climate is changing now,\u201d humans weren\u2019t causing it. Even then, he said, climate change was a \u201cmixed blessing\u201d with both advantages and disadvantages. Just before we go any further, let\u2019s put a disclaimer there. Carlson's position contradicts every major scientific academy on the planet and more than half a century of detailed study, observation, and experimentation.\u00a0In a 13-minute interview last month<\/span> Carlson told viewers they shouldn't trust climate change experts, while reeling off a list of alleged errors from scientists in the past.\u00a0<\/span>Let's look at a few of them.\u00a0<\/span>Carlson said that \u201cthe world\u2019s most famous climate change expert, Greta Thunberg,\u201d recently deleted a tweet that said a scientist claimed that climate change \u201cwill wipe out all of humanity if we don\u2019t stop using fossil fuels within the next five years.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Aside from the fact that Thunberg is not a climate scientist, earlier this year she deleted a tweet she posted in 2018 when she was 15. The tweet linked to an article <\/span>with the headline "Top climate scientist: if we don't, humans will go extinct 'we won't fix climate change by 2023'."\u00a0<\/span>But as fact-checkers at Snopes and the Associated Press pointed out, the article it was linked to did not say that humanity would disappear by 2023.
