These are the key findings of a report by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) released today, ahead of the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/events\/un-day\/international-day-zero-waste-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Zero Waste Day<\/a>\u00a0.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A message\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/resources\/publication\/food-waste-index-report-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNEP Food Waste Index Report 2024<\/a><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u00a0,<\/span> in partnership with WRAP, provides the most accurate global estimate of food waste at retail and consumer levels. It provides guidance to countries on how to improve data collection and suggests best practices in moving from measuring to reducing food waste.
