{"id":25820,"date":"2024-03-25T14:30:08","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T13:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.co2news.sk\/?p=25820"},"modified":"2024-03-26T05:40:50","modified_gmt":"2024-03-26T04:40:50","slug":"climate-change-indicators-hit-record-levels-in-2023-wmo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.co2news.sk\/en\/2024\/03\/25\/climate-change-indicators-hit-record-levels-in-2023-wmo\/","title":{"rendered":"Climate change indicators reach record level in 2023: WMO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new report from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) shows that records for greenhouse gas levels, surface temperatures, ocean warming and acidification, sea level rise, Antarctic sea ice and glacier retreat have again been broken and in some cases broken.<\/p>\n<p>Heat waves, floods, droughts, wildfires and rapidly intensifying tropical cyclones have caused misery and chaos, upended daily life for millions and caused many billions of dollars in economic losses, according to the WMO State of the Global Climate 2023 report.<\/p>\n<p>The WMO report confirmed that 2023 was the warmest year on record, with a global mean surface temperature of 1.45\u00b0C (with an uncertainty margin of \u00b10.12\u00b0C) above the pre-industrial baseline. It was the warmest decade on record.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Sirens are blaring in all the main indicators... Some records are not only at the top of the charts, but are being broken.
