The plan, announced at the flagship Research and Innovation Days, sets out three key strategic directions for EU research and innovation funding for the last three years of the program (2025-2027):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Green transition;<\/li>\n<li>Digital transition;<\/li>\n<li>A more resilient, competitive, inclusive and democratic Europe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These orientations are aimed at addressing key global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, digital transition and population aging.<\/p>\n<p>Open strategic autonomy and ensuring Europe&#039;s leading role in the development and deployment of critical technologies are overarching principles that apply in all three key strategic directions.<\/p>\n<p>The Strategic Plan increases Horizon Europe&#039;s biodiversity ambitions and commits to the goal that 10 % of Horizon Europe&#039;s total budget for 2025-2027 will be dedicated to biodiversity-related topics. This new commitment complements existing targets for climate spending (35 % over the lifetime of Horizon Europe) and major digital activities (\u20ac13 billion over the same period).
