The global session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union was held within the framework of the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP28) with the aim of mobilizing efforts at all levels on the phenomenon of climate change and its negative consequences.<\/span><\/p>\n

The final result led to a policy document on the topic. As a representative of the Italian delegation, I tabled an amendment to the final declaration in the section on vulnerable subjects, which was adopted.<\/span><\/p>\n

The amendment referred to Parliament's commitment to look for strategies and approaches to protect children in the fight against climate change. The motivation came from the report\u00a0<\/span>The Climate Changed Child<\/span> from the production of UNICEF, which calls us to think about the connection between climate change and children, and from the hearing in the Environment Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, which I strongly requested.
