This factor is one of the main contributors to the fact that the world will add as much renewable energy to its arsenal in the next five years as it has in the last 20 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Global renewable energy capacity is expected to grow by 2,400 gigawatts (GW) between 2022 and 2027, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA). That figure from 2022 \u2013 30 % higher than estimated a year ago, the IEA says \u2013 equals China&#039;s total energy capacity.
