Among the five consumer segments that EY predicts will shape the future of food consumption, two are &quot;planet first&quot; and &quot;society first.&quot; Together, they strike at the heart of many sustainability initiatives that seek to reduce carbon emissions in ways that protect the environment and protect surrounding communities. In an effort to get ahead, many of the world&#039;s largest organizations \u2013 from big box stores and hospitality chains to F&amp;B conglomerates \u2013 have published goals to become carbon neutral by 2050.
