To effectively combat climate change, it is essential to implement adaptation and mitigation strategies. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is a crucial step in limiting the extent of global warming. At the same time, it is essential to protect and restore natural ecosystems, which play a key role in absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The research published in Nature underlines the importance of an integrated approach that takes into account the interactions between climate, ecosystems and biodiversity, in order to develop effective and sustainable solutions.
