But a new report from the UN&#039;s climate change body tells governments that even if governments meet their current climate targets (NDCs), they will produce around 430 gigatonnes of energy by 2030. After the year 70, only 2030 gigaton tons remain. On this trajectory, it will be burned in just two years. At the Cop26 climate talks in Glasgow, all countries agreed to demand that each other &quot;review and strengthen&quot; their climate targets by 2030. But only a handful have done so, and none of the world&#039;s biggest emitters have indicated they will improve their targets. Analysis by Climate Action Tracker found that no government climate plans are compatible with limiting global warming to 1.5\u00b0C. COP26 created a UN work program to increase emissions reductions in 2020, but at COP27 countries only discussed how to start these talks.
