Adapting to the impacts of climate change will be a key social, economic and political challenge in the coming decades. Adaptation is intended to reduce the vulnerability of human and ecological systems to upcoming changes. Effective implementation of adaptation measures is a complex process and requires joint efforts of various sectors and actors. Since the impacts of climate change differ and will vary across the regions of Slovakia, the measures will have to reflect the specifics of the individual territories of the country. This will require cooperation at all levels of public administration. This analysis determines the degree of threat to municipalities from three climate threats \u2013 extreme heat, extreme precipitation and drought. Municipalities are divided into ten categories according to the degree of threat posed by individual threats \u2013 the higher the degree, the higher the potential negative impacts of climate change. The degrees of threat take into account both socioeconomic and landscape specificities of individual areas. Financing of adaptation measures should be concentrated in the most affected areas of the country. The results and methodology developed as part of this study should serve as a starting point for decision-making processes related to the financing and implementation of adaptation measures.<\/p>\n
