This resource is intended for educators, policy makers and organizations involved in climate education. It aims to inspire climate action and raise awareness by equipping educators with the tools to integrate climate change education into the curriculum.
This guidance responds to young people's calls for a holistic approach to climate change and sustainability in the curriculum. It outlines a common language on how quality climate change and sustainability can be reflected in the curriculum by setting expected learning outcomes by age group. The goal is for 90 percent of all countries to include climate change in their curricula by 2030, as set out by the Partnership for Environmental Education.
The aim of this guideline is to support countries, schools or individual practitioners in reviewing their ongoing practices to adopt a more actionable, holistic, scientifically accurate, equitable and lifelong learning approach to climate change.
