Closer to home, the Albanian government recently introduced legislation to establish a net-zero economy office, promising to catalyze investment in clean energy technologies in an effort to reach net-zero. Commitments to reach net-zero emissions in the coming decades have multiplied since the 2021 United Nations climate summit in Glasgow, when governments declared their commitments to meet the Paris Agreement's goal of keeping global warming below 1.5°C.
